Material Aids Sewing Group

In April, the sewing group and their packing crew put together 144 School Bag Kits and 215 Hygiene Kits which were sent to the Church World Service kit program. On Sept. 18 we will start sewing school bags at our first Sewing Group of the year and hope to see some new faces. Contact the office if you have any questions.
We are now collecting items for next year’s school bags while stores have school items on special sale. We are asking for donations of these 7 items:
  • 70-count spiral notebooks
  • Hand-held pencil sharpeners
  • Wood pencils with erasers
  • Blunt tip scissors (child size)
  • Large erasers (pink type)
  • 12-inch rulers with metric
  • Crayons—box of 24 only
There are collection boxes in the hallway at the West and Center Street doors at Grace Church.
Thank you!

Rutland Area Chorus & Orchestra ~ Spring Concert

When: Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 4:00pm (Pre-concert talk at 3:30pm)

Where: Grace UCC Sanctuary

About:
Directed by Alastair Stout

The Rutland Area Chorus and Orchestra will be joined by soloists Allison Devery-Steinmetz and David Castonguay to perform the Requiem, Op. 48, by Gabriel Fauré. Violinist Kevin Bushee will also join the orchestra to perform The Lark Ascending, a ‘romance for violin and orchestra’, by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Both pieces portray the optimism of the human spirit, and are dominated by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest. This will be a wonderfully reflective concert for post-Easter season.

A pre-concert talk by David Castonguay will be given at 3:30pm in the Grace Church Sanctuary.  A post-concert reception will also be held in the Fellowship Hall.

* A freewill offering will be accepted in aid of the Grace Church Organ Repair Fund.
