Lenten devotional: For God so loved the world

For God so loved the world…

“Good Enough”… I heard these words as a negative.  Words and thoughts like I should have, could have, getting by, taking the easy road, all came to mind.

On the same day that I hear “Good Enough,” one of my devotions talked about a plaque with the motto, “Your sins are forgiven – even that one.”  This gave me reassurance, that even though I may fall short of my potential or others’ expectations, I am forgiven. Jesus died on the cross for my imperfections.  I have the opportunity each day to try and try again with His guiding presence and forgiveness when I feel I don’t succeed.

“For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. ”  John 3:16

Grace Congregational Church members and friends have contributed to this year’s Lenten devotionals. This year’s Lenten theme is “Good enough: Embracing the imperfections of life and faith.” Today’s devotional was contributed by Sarah Pulcer.
